Bonsoir

J'ai un problème avec Signal

https://www.signal.org/download/

snap find signal-desktop
Name Version Publisher Notes Summary
signal-desktop 1.19.0 snapcrafters - Signal Private Messenger for Windows, Mac, and Linux
pourtant j'avais fait un "snap remove"

Code : Tout sélectionner

snap help remove
Usage:
  snap remove [remove-OPTIONS] <snap>...

The remove command removes the named snap from the system.

By default all the snap revisions are removed, including their data and the
common data directory. When a --revision option is passed only the specified
revision is removed.

[remove command options]
                    modification.
--revision= Supprimer uniquement la révision donnée

Code : Tout sélectionner

snap --help
The snap command lets you install, configure, refresh and remove snaps.
Snaps are packages that work across many different Linux distributions,
enabling secure delivery and operation of the latest apps and utilities.

Usage: snap <command> [<options>...]

Commands can be classified as follows:

Basics: find, info, install, list, remove
...more: refresh, revert, switch, disable, enable
        History: changes, tasks, abort, watch
Daemons: services, start, stop, restart, logs
       Commands: alias, aliases, unalias, prefer
  Configuration: get, set, wait
        Account: login, logout, whoami
    Permissions: interfaces, interface, connect, disconnect
          Other: version, warnings, okay
Development: run, pack, try, ack, known, download

For more information about a command, run 'snap help <command>'.
For a short summary of all commands, run 'snap help --all'.

I have exactly the same issue. I’m running the Signal app on Ubuntu 18.04, and it is connected to my signal account on my Android phone.

Whenever I start the app, I get a delay of 2-4 minutes loading just 240 messages (according to the status display that I see). It can take 10 - 40 seconds to load just 10 messages.

It’s so long that it is almost pointless to use the app. I have no idea why it does this, but the problem is definitely ongoing, and definitely real. Help?

I’ve had the same issue for a long time—probably since the Electron version of the desktop app came out, or before! I’m running Ubuntu 18.04 now, and 16.04 previously.

In case it’s somehow related, I’ve also been experiencing the message drop issues
on retrouve Electron ?
This is an issue when you have long messages on your account, aka a single chat thread longer than 300 messages. this is an issue bc the desktop app loads all messages from beginning EVERY time you launch the app, most apps load on an as-needed base and I don’t know why signal does this. Luckily the work around is simple, in your mobile app you need to check the box that automatically deletes old messages, you can then set the value to whatever you want, for me it was 200. This will DRAMATICALLY speed up the desktop launch times, it also has the benefit of reducing the amount of storage space used on you phone.

This is a glaring issue with the desktop client and this should be next to top priority for the devs, but due to its nature I suspect that this is no simple fix and will requite compete rework of the API and how your phone distributes messages to other clients.
oui il me semble avoir > 300 message (to do list)

bonsoir

donc RAS

bonjour

https://support.signal.org/hc/en-us/art ... leshooting
