J'ai un problème avec Signal

J'ai quitté Zuckerberg mais je comprends pas pourquoi ça fonctionne pas, comme disait Fernand Renaud "ça eu payé mais ça paie plus" en paraphrasant *ça eut fonctionné mais ça fonctionne plus*

un interlocuteur me disait que sur son téléphone ça donne

"message chiffré pour une session non existante"


... de plus en plus mystérieux ....


j'ai désinstallé l'appli sur mon téléphone, rebooté le smartphone là la version desktop a un peu réagi dont le setting fond sombre puis après reboot de l'ordi retour à la case départ

I have exactly the same issue. I’m running the Signal app on Ubuntu 18.04, and it is connected to my signal account on my Android phone.

Whenever I start the app, I get a delay of 2-4 minutes loading just 240 messages (according to the status display that I see). It can take 10 - 40 seconds to load just 10 messages.

It’s so long that it is almost pointless to use the app. I have no idea why it does this, but the problem is definitely ongoing, and definitely real. Help?

I’ve had the same issue for a long time—probably since the Electron version of the desktop app came out, or before! I’m running Ubuntu 18.04 now, and 16.04 previously.

In case it’s somehow related, I’ve also been experiencing the message drop issues

This is an issue when you have long messages on your account, aka a single chat thread longer than 300 messages. this is an issue bc the desktop app loads all messages from beginning EVERY time you launch the app, most apps load on an as-needed base and I don’t know why signal does this. Luckily the work around is simple, in your mobile app you need to check the box that automatically deletes old messages, you can then set the value to whatever you want, for me it was 200. This will DRAMATICALLY speed up the desktop launch times, it also has the benefit of reducing the amount of storage space used on you phone.

This is a glaring issue with the desktop client and this should be next to top priority for the devs, but due to its nature I suspect that this is no simple fix and will requite compete rework of the API and how your phone distributes messages to other clients.

j'ai limité à 200 messages et rien de mieux

j'ai installé Electron, il est "launché" et en parallèle je dois faire un sudo signal-desktop pour l'appli, l'amélioration si je puis dire c'est que j'en suis depuis des heures à "chargement"

par contre avec

"sudo search signal-desktop"

je me suis apperçu qu'il existait une version bêta 4 sur mon ordi et yeah elle semble tourner après "sudo apt install signal-desktop-beta"

je clos le sujet après le prochain reboot histoire d être certain que tout roule
